St. Louis Natives Tim Ream and Josh Sargent were among the 26 players chosen for the U.S. Men’s Nation Team for the 2022 World Cup Soccer last Wednesday. Both Ream and Sargent went to St. Dominic High School in O’ Fallon Missouri. Sargent was once regarded as one of the top soccer prospects in the Nation. He spent 4 seasons with Werder Bremen of the Bundesliga and the last two seasons with Norwich City who are currently playing in the 2nd Division English Football League Championship level after the team was relegated from the nation’s top flight English Premier League.
Tim Ream was a surprised pick to be on the U.S. Soccer despite being one of the oldest at age 35 years old. Despite being on various U.S. Men’s National Soccer team regional tournament this will be the first time that he will being participating in the World Cup. Ream also went to St. Dominic and lead the team to the Missouri Class 2 State title in 2004. After high school, Ream made 82 appearance at Saint Louis University where he earned NSCAA first-team-All Region and second team All-Conference honors. Ream was drafted in the 2nd round by the New York Red Bulls in the 2010 Major League Soccer Super Draft. After two seasons with the Red Bulls, Reams was transferred to the Bolton Wanderers of the English Premier League. Then he signed with Fulham FC in 2015 where he currently plays. The U.S. Men’s team will play their first game on November 21st against Wales in Group stage round that will include England and Iran.
