Missouri State Falls To South Dakota State 28-14

The Missouri State Bears fall to South Dakota State Jackrabbits 28-14 on Saturday in a Missouri Valley Football Conference season opener which matched up the top-five Football Championship Sub-Division teams. It was very disappointing performance for the Bears who were coming off an inspiring performance in 38-27 lost against Arkansas at Fayetteville which would had been the biggest upset and win for the Missouri State Bears.

Missouri State Quarterback Jason who was coming off his best performance last weekend in a loss at Arkansas when he threw for 357 was 19-of-29 passing for 185 yards with two interceptions against the top 5 South Dakota State Defense.

The Bears fell behind 14-0 early in the 3rd quarter but rallied to tie the game after scoring 14 un-answer points with a 15-yard touchdown by Jacardia Wright and a 67-yard touchdown pass from Jason Shelley to Raylen Sharpe. However, the Jackrabbits would rolled up 14 un-answer points in the 4th quarter as quarterback Mark Gronowski threw a career-high 4 touchdown passes and finished day going for 22-29 for 319 yards passing while his 2 top receivers Zach Heins finished with 127 yards receiving and Jadon Janke had 102 for the Jackrabbits who are now 3-1 for the season and 1-0 in the Missouri Valley Football Conference while the Bears fall to 2-2 and 0-1. Missouri State will go on the road and play against North Dakota in another Missouri Valley Football Conference play in which the team hopes to bounce back after a tough lost against a team that finished runner up in the 2021 NCAA FCS title which Sam Houston St won that year.
